Automotive Technology I

2 semesters - 3 periods
Grades Eligible: 11, 12, Adult

This course is an introduction to shop safety, automotive maintenance, power plants, electrical braking, steering suspension systems, and maintenance and light repair. Theory, diagnosis and computerized systems will be emphasized in all levels of training. In depth book work along with theory and shop work is expected. Students must have good communication and math skills. Much emphasis will be placed on Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) guidelines. Students must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Automotive Technology II

2 semesters - 3 periods
Grades Eligible: 12, Adult
Prerequisites: Automotive Technology 1 and instructor approval

This class is an introduction to brakes, advanced electrical, emission and fuel control, heating and air condition, auto tire and wheel alignment, electrical test equipment, maintenance and light repair, and prep for employment. In-depth theory and shop work is expected. Much emphasis will be placed on Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) guidelines. Students must have good communication and math skills, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.
*Students who complete both years of the Automotive Technology program may earn up to twelve (12) hours of advanced standing credit from Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, TN.
