Computer Coding and Programming I CREDIT: 3.0

Prerequisites: Computer Basics (Computer Apps or Keyboarding) and Algebra I or equivalent

Description: This course introduces students to coding and Computer Science fundamentals. Students will use an integrated development environment to solve coding and programming problems to complete websites. Students will learn the power of text-based programming as they are introduced to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create and build various websites.

Computer Coding & Programming II

Computer Coding and Programming II CREDIT: 3.0
2 semesters - 3 periods - (PM Only) Community college credit available Grades Eligible: 12

Prerequisites: Computer Coding and Programming I with a minimum of a C- and instructor approval

Description: This course is a continuation of Computer Coding and Programming 1. Students will complete training in WordPress to create and maintain various websites. Year two students will learn the fundamentals of working in a professional team-based environment to prepare for career readiness in the field of Computer Science. Students will also learn how to use Git and GitHub for version control and project management. Students will be exposed to various frameworks and languages such as: Angular, Bootstrap, Ruby, and Ruby on Rails. Students are responsible for transportation to internship locations.
